Laptop keyboard replacement in Vilnius
Are keys failing, typing on their own or damaged by a spill? We inspect the fault and select a suitable replacement: a separate keyboard or a complete upper case assembly. How do we identify the fault?
We check keys, ribbon cable, connector and system settings. A broken key mechanism, a failed keyboard and a board fault require different solutions. We inspect other damage after spills; additional repairs are not automatically included.
Installing a keyboard in the existing case
Where the design permits, we retain the palmrest. Access may require removing the motherboard, releasing the metal support plate and removing old fixings. We prepare surfaces, install the keyboard and restore appropriate support and fastening. Adhesive work is staged with the necessary curing time. Not every keyboard is secured by glue alone; the method depends on design.
When should the whole palmrest be replaced?
The palmrest is the upper case surrounding the keyboard and hand-rest area. An assembly may suit a damaged case, unavailable separate keyboard or fixings that cannot be reliably restored. We check whether the touchpad, power button and fingerprint reader are included; contents vary.
Dust cleaning and thermal paste are included
The €40–100 labour charge includes dust cleaning. If the heatsink must be lifted to access the keyboard, we renew thermal paste before assembly at no extra charge. Some motherboards can be removed with the heatsink attached, so breaking the thermal contact is not always required. Materials are selected for the design.
Layout and backlighting
We agree US, UK or another layout, Enter key shape, legends, colour and backlighting. Unlit, white-backlit and RGB keyboards are not automatically interchangeable. Different generations of the same series may use different parts.
Checks after reassembly
We test all keys, main key combinations, backlighting, touchpad and startup. If cooling was disassembled, we check temperatures and fan operation. Keyboard replacement does not require deleting files or reinstalling Windows. Completed work carries a 6-month warranty.
Getting a quote and timeframe
Send the model code, keyboard photo and preferred layout. Dell Service Tag, HP Product Number, Lenovo MTM or the full ASUS code helps. With the part available, work is often completed usually within 3 hours; fastening, curing and delivery time are agreed separately.

How much is labour?

Are cleaning and paste extra?
No. Dust cleaning is included. Fresh thermal paste is also included when the heatsink is removed during replacement.

Does the palmrest include the touchpad?
Not always. The touchpad, power button and fingerprint reader may need transferring.
Must the heatsink always be removed?
No. Some boards come out with it attached. When removed, we renew thermal paste.
Can you replace one key?
Sometimes, if the base is intact and a compatible mechanism is available. This is assessed and priced separately.
Can I choose a different layout?
If the shape, mounting and connectors are compatible. We agree the layout before ordering.
How long does it take?

Will a new keyboard fix all spill damage?
Not necessarily. Liquid may damage the board or connectors. Other repairs require separate agreement.
What about files and warranty?
File deletion is not required. We recommend a backup. Work has a 6-month warranty; part terms are separate.
