Computer preparation for correctional facilities
We prepare computers for delivery to correctional or other restricted-access facilities. We physically remove the camera, microphone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, test the computer and issue a special document confirming the completed modifications.

How do we prepare the computer?
We inspect the exact model
Before starting, we assess the computer’s construction and identify its communication, camera and audio components. The method of disconnecting or removing them differs between models.
We make the agreed modifications
According to the agreed requirements, we physically remove or disconnect the camera, microphone, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth or other prohibited modules where technically possible.
We test the computer
After modification, we check that the computer powers on and its permitted core functions operate. Restoring removed functions later may require replacement parts and additional work.
We prepare documentation
The price includes all computer preparation work under the agreed institution requirements, testing and a report of completed work.
Does the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module need desoldering?
Some laptops combine Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in a module soldered to the motherboard. In these cases, the module must be desoldered rather than simply unplugged or disabled in software. We assess the design and feasibility before starting work.
