What to know before repair

We use a manufacturer-supported Windows or DOS utility, or the integrated BIOS / UEFI tool. Available methods depend on the specific model.
Some models support BIOS recovery from a USB drive after a failed update. We prepare the appropriate file and drive and follow the manufacturer’s recovery procedure.
We check the exact computer or motherboard model, BIOS version and firmware file. We discuss the failure and assess whether software recovery is appropriate.
We use stable power and discuss recovery-key availability if drive encryption is enabled. Do not submit keys through the public contact form.
Afterwards, we check startup, BIOS version, essential settings and device detection. If USB recovery is unsupported or unsuccessful, external programming is agreed separately.
Labour costs €20–40, usually the same day. A BIOS update does not resolve every computer fault. Additional work is agreed beforehand.

Can BIOS be updated through Windows?

Yes, where the manufacturer provides a suitable utility. Otherwise we use its supported BIOS / UEFI or DOS method.

Does USB recovery work on every computer?

No. It depends on the model and fault. We check the manufacturer’s recovery features first.

Will my files remain?

BIOS work does not mean erasing drive data. We recommend a backup and access to the encryption recovery key if used.

Can settings reset?

Yes. We check boot settings and other necessary settings after the update or recovery.

What is the price and turnaround?

€20–40 for software updating or supported recovery, usually the same day. External programming and board repair are agreed separately.

What if recovery fails?

We explain the result and agree the next step. We do not start external programming or soldering without approval.
