Start with the original problem
Repeat the action that previously failed: open the application, connect the accessory or test charging. A short check may not reproduce an intermittent fault. Explain the workload and conditions that triggered it. A specific scenario helps at collection and if the symptom returns later.
Check everyday functions
Try the keyboard, touchpad, camera, sound, Wi-Fi and ports you use. After screen replacement, check the image and brightness control; after charging repair, test your own adapter. Random internet tests are unnecessary: your actual tasks matter most. Bring a specialist dock or other important accessory if useful.
Check files and applications separately
Open several important documents and confirm they are where expected. Following reinstallation, applications and licences may need separate setup and activation. Preserving personal files does not automatically mean migrating the whole software environment. Compare the result with the agreed work and report discrepancies promptly.
Keep documents and care guidance
The repair record should explain the completed work and applicable conditions. Keep it with the payment document. Ask whether a particular symptom needs monitoring or settings were changed. Fan noise after cooling maintenance still depends on load; complete silence is not always realistic. Assess behaviour under normal conditions.
If the symptom returns
Record the time, task and connected accessories, and take a photograph or video. Avoid changing many settings before contacting the service centre because this can obscure the cause. A repeated symptom does not necessarily mean the same fault, so reassessment is needed. Stop using the computer if there is a burning smell, battery deformation or liquid damage.
Quick checks
| Situation | What to check | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| A part was replaced | Repeat a related everyday task | Startup alone does not test every function. |
| Files were transferred | Open several important copies | Application migration is agreed separately. |
| The symptom returned | Record conditions and contact the service | Avoid many setting changes before diagnosis. |
