BIOS flashing with a programmer
- We assess the board and BIOS chip. Where needed, we desolder the chip, place it in the correct programmer adapter and read it using dedicated software.
- If the chip is readable, we save its original contents. Depending on the fault, we repair the current firmware image or prepare a compatible replacement.
- Where required, we obtain a donor dump for the same computer model and appropriate board revision from paid online repair databases. A model-name match alone is insufficient; we check board and image compatibility.
- We assess board-specific information and preserve or transfer it from the original copy where possible. We do not write an unverified donor image.
- We verify the written data with the programmer, reinstall the chip, inspect soldering and test startup. A replacement chip, if needed, is agreed separately.
- Labour costs €50–80, 1–3 days. Complex image recovery or another board fault may take longer; additional work is agreed in advance.
