Language is more than labels

Keyboards can differ in Enter shape, key count and physical layout. Changing the system language does not move the keys. Provide a photograph of the original keyboard and specify the desired layout before ordering.

Can backlighting be added?

Not always. Replacing a non-backlit keyboard with a backlit one requires a compatible motherboard connection, cable and control support. A similar-looking part sold for a related model does not prove compatibility with your configuration.

Separate keyboard or palmrest assembly?

Some keyboards can be removed separately; others are integrated into the upper case. Mounting method, labour and part cost differ. An exact part number matters more than visual similarity in an online photograph.

Checks after replacement

Test every key, backlight, function combination and system keyboard layout. If symbols do not match, check the selected language layout first. Mechanical sticking or a non-working group of keys needs assessment separate from language settings.

Frequently asked questions

Do stickers change the keyboard layout?

They change labels, not the physical shape or location of keys.

Is the laptop series name enough to order?

Not always. The full model number or original part code is often needed.
