CPU replacement
- We assess whether a processor upgrade suits your applications, workloads and budget before recommending a replacement.
- Before purchase, we check the exact motherboard model, supported CPU list and BIOS version. A matching socket alone does not establish compatibility.
- We assess cooler mounting and cooling capacity, case space and power requirements. Additional parts or a BIOS update are agreed separately.
- We disconnect power, remove the cooler, inspect the socket and carefully replace the processor. We renew the thermal interface and secure the cooler correctly.
- After replacement, we check startup, CPU detection, temperatures and stability under load. Any other faults found are reported separately.
- CPU replacement and CPU socket repair are separate services. Damaged contacts or sockets require an assessment before proceeding.
- We do not erase data without consent. Before hardware changes, we recommend a backup of important files and access to the recovery key if encryption is enabled.

Will any CPU with the same socket work?

Will the computer definitely be faster?
Results depend on applications and other components. If storage, memory or graphics is the bottleneck, a CPU upgrade may not deliver the expected improvement.
Does Windows need reinstalling?
Not always. We assess the system and extent of changes. Additional system work is agreed separately.
How much does it cost and how long does it take?
CPU replacement labour costs €25. Usually completed the same day. The CPU and other parts are charged separately.
Do you replace laptop processors?
This service is for desktop computers. Laptop options require assessment of the exact model.
What warranty applies?
Completed work carries a 6-month warranty. Warranty terms for the CPU and other parts are stated separately.
