Power supply repair
- This service covers internal desktop power supplies, including ATX and SFX units. Laptop charger repair is a separate service. We assess the specific model, condition and component availability.
- A computer may fail to start, shut down unexpectedly or become unstable under load. Motherboard, graphics card and other faults can cause similar symptoms. We establish the source first.
- We inspect the unit, cables and connectors for overheating and component damage. We perform electrical measurements and, where safe and technically feasible, check output voltages and operation under load.
- Depending on the fault, we replace damaged electronic components, repair connections or address cooling problems. The scope depends on construction. We do not bypass protections; if a reliable repair is not feasible, we recommend replacement.
- Labour costs €50–100, with an estimated turnaround of 1–3 days. Required components are charged separately. Parts orders, additional work and revised timing are agreed before proceeding.
- After repair, we check output voltages, stability under load and cooling operation as appropriate for the unit. A spinning fan alone does not establish that a power supply is working correctly.
- We compare the repair estimate with the cost of a suitable replacement unit. If damage is severe or repair is uneconomical, we discuss replacement and agree the decision with you.
- Bring the PSU or complete desktop to Savanorių pr. 40, Vilnius. Bring the original cables for a modular unit. Stop using a unit that smells burnt or sparks, and do not open it: dangerous voltage may remain inside even after disconnection.
